CEJC Launches "A*TEAM"CEJC has launched a new state-level multidisciplinary team that will include advocates, policy analysts, and content to address systemic barriers to elder justice. A*TEAM Coordinator Carol Sewell is reaching out to multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) across the state to identify barriers to justice and explore how the team can help. California NewsElder & Disability Justice Coordinating CouncilThe California Department of Aging hosted the first meeting of the Elder and Disability Justice Coordinating Council (EDJCC) on January 28, 2022. CEJC Executive Director Lisa Nerenberg and Steering Committee member were appointed to serve on the Council.The EDJCC was created under the Master Plan for Aging’s (MPA) Goal Three: Equity & Inclusion, Not Isolation. It calls for building a California that is just for ALL, regardless of age and ability. Recordings of past meetings and a schedule of future meetings are available at EDJCC. Creating an elder justice coordinating council was a top priority for CEJC,and we're delighted to see it come to fruition. It's expecially exciting to see it launched as part of the Master Plan for Aging and to be part of the process."
